The fifth Long Walk Women’s Luncheon took lace on Friday 8th October 2010 at Peninsula Docklands in Melbourne.

The SNAKE condoms team purchased a table, with Marie Stopes International staff attending and absolutely loving the afternoon, sharing the fabulous food and participating in the silent auctions which featured a great range of works of art by Indigenous women. Once again the SNAKE program also donated a number of condoms and SNAKE merchandise for the event showbags.

The Long Walk Women’s Luncheon is a celebration of Indigenous women’s leadership initiated by the women that walked with Michael Long to Canberra. The luncheon brings together over 500 Indigenous and non-Indigenous women and supportive men, to celebrate, network and have a good yarn.

This year, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia was in attendance and the SNAKE team were very lucky to have a yarn and also take the opportunity to have our picture taken, alongside Robynann Morgan from OATSIH Victoria. We were able to give the Governor General some SNAKE condoms and she promised to take them with her wherever she goes…… GO SNAKE!

We are looking forward to The Long Walk 2011
